Lithomancy started as a thrash metal act under the name of 'Euthanasia' in 1990, a project founded by Michael and Carlo. As time passed and the band found its actual members, the style had progressed into atmospherical death metal with touches of oriental influence. Their first live appearance came 4 years later, a strong line-up consisting of creators Michael on guitars and vocals and Carlo on guitars, Dino on drums, Rex on bass and additional vocals and Will 'Grizzly' (former Norm Rejection vocalist) on keyboards.

August 1994 - 'Rock for the Fort' in Fort Rinella.
January 1995 - 'Lobotomy' at White Rocks.

Will 'Grizzly' quit the band for personal reasons and Jean-Pierre joined in. James (ex Biblical Infamy) was brought in as main vocalist as Mike decided to concentrate more on guitar work.
Becoming a 6 piece band and tri-vocal. Unfortunately, this line up never made it to a live performance as the band was brought to its knees after Carlo and new vox, James decided to quit.

Lithomancy was laid dormant for 3 years and was re summoned by Dino and Mike and new guitarist A.J. Burd. John a.k.a Warslut joined on keyboards and Rex joined a couple of months later. Mike chose to take the vocal role after writing new material with A.J. and Dino, thus, a second guitarist never suceeded to remain in the band. Last member Andrew (pjanca) of Martyrium on second guitars quit some weeks before scheduled performance with Beheaded.
The band decided to remain with one guitarist and a string of gigs were ahead for Lithomancy.

November 2000 - supporting Beheaded at Rock Cafe'.
December 2000 - 'Rock in the Woods' in Buskett Forest.
February 2001 - 'Grimreaper Festival' at Pushka
April 2001 - Rock Cafe' supported by Arachnid
August 2001 - Last gig with A.J. at Strings Club together with Achiral.

The departure of A.J. was a major blow for the band. A replacment was found immediatly. David 'Parker' (ex Beheaded) joined in, unluckily to say, short term.

February 2002 - A successful gig at Best in Town, Paceville together with Achiral. Lithomancy performed with A.J. on guitar who is currently on holiday here in Malta.

Malcolm from Canniria joined ranks on guitars, John decided to quit keyboards with the band due to musical influences. Auditions for a second guitarist and a keyboard replacment started. In October 2002, James and Dave a.k.a Croolis joined in on guitars and keyboards respectively. The unlucky spell of 2 guitarists was summoned again which saw the departure of Malcolm, leaving new guy James to have the full responsability on guitar work.

Since then, the band has lost sense of direction. Constant line up changes brought only discourage, mainly for long time members under the banner of Lithomancy for 12 years, Mike, Dino and Rex.
Only dedication and to fulfill the dream, even the the aid of new members Dave and James, gave new life and direction to Lithomancy. The band is now heading for a comeback performance.
